Gary Jamroz-palma is a senior concept artist and illustrator located in Paris, France. He currently works at DONTNOD Entertainment and has previously spent four years working on the creation of concept art pieces for their very first project Remember Me (Which we featured some time ago here), He is now transitioning his work towards creating pieces for their upcoming title Vampyr.

A few weeks ago however, Gary had uploaded some of the work behind what is without a doubt one of my most favorite games within the past 10 or so years. That game is Life is Strange, a tale which bends your mind, smacks you in the face and asks you important questions about life. At somepoint in the game, Max visits an art gallery in San Francisco, even in the end the level design had to be redone for the gameplay and this was my concept of the gallery.

These two pieces were created some time ago as a task to establish the visuals of inside the academy.

This is my concept art for the Science Classroom at the Blackwell Academy. They have a pretty great class with a lot of cool furnitures and science supplies. I think Einstein is pleased.

I was fortunate enough to develop all the concept art for the Dark Room pieces, it was a unique opportunity for me to concept what a psycopath man cave would be like, now I know what to do to build my own!

So let’s go for some of the concepts art I have made the past two years on Life Is Strange (there are so many, hard to make a choice haha). This one was one of the very first concepts I had done with Michel Koch, the Art Director/Game Director of the game in January 2013. We can see here that we were already in the pacific northwest, but the school at this time was very different to the one that was developed in the game.
